Picture spelling or Picspell developed as I was trying to demonstrate the fact that I can’t see words in my head.

How it works

I discovered that putting the letters and letter combinations in pictures helped me break down the words. The pictures helped me remember and visualise the spellings. There are no rules to this, working things out for yourself helps you remember and learn and we all learn in different ways.

I use colours, pictures and codes to help me. If under pressure I make up my own spelling just to get my thoughts on paper before they disappear. If you too struggle with this, please don’t be afraid to write.
